Join the Project S.T.E.P. Family!

Project S.T.E.P. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and mentorship program committed to providing early learning opportunities through performance and production. The acronym S.T.E.P. “Showing Teamwork Evolves Pride” sets a standard in how working together can help build for success. 

 

Our program tiers are Academic Achievement, Leadership Development and Community Involvement, which are further describe below:

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT.

  • To be a member of this team you must meet the GPA requirement.

    • GPA Requirement: 2.75 on a 4.0 scale (2.0 on a 3.0 scale) → If GPA drops, you will be put on Academic Probation. 

    • While on academic probation you will be required to  attend all Project S.T.E.P programming as normal and will utilize the  time to study until improvement is shown. (i.e. progress report)

    • To help maintain the GPA requirement, Project S.T.E.P Advisors will provide allotted study time and tutoring services every week for all team members.

  • There's at least 2 hours per week dedicated for Homework Hour to ensure youth are prioritizing academic success throughout the school year. 

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT.

Project S.T.E.P. is dedicated to uniting the community of Wayne Metro area to support children and young people in the area. Through various community service projects and special programs, we strive to help build strong connections and a brighter future for kids in the area.

 

Our current initiatives focus on providing essential resources and programs such as educational opportunities, after-school activities, mentoring, and employment training.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT.

Our nonprofit organization is proud to offer leadership development opportunities to Wayne Metro youth that focus on building skills that will result in a successful transition into adulthood.

​

Our Youth Advisory Council are heavily involved in the decision making process for the organization as an advocate for their peers. In receiving input from youth leaders, we have an increased success rate of meeting successful outcomes with youth programming. There are 6 leadership roles available to youth, which are as follows: President/Captain, Vice President/Co-Captain, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer.
